Your favourite Oskar Werner movie?
So, what is your favourite movie with Oskar Werner? Will you also exlpain us a bit, why it is your favourite movie? Would be nice.
I choose "Fahrenheit 451" this time, cause I am sure, if you ask me in a month I may say "Ship of Fools" again, or "Jules et Jim". But Fahrenheit 451 was my first movie with Oskar Werner.. it will always be something special for me. I like the story, the director and Oskar as Montag is just the best, though we know he and Truffaut had some troubles while working together for a second time.

My Oskar's favorite film
Good morning, My Oskar's favourite film is " decision before dawn " parce I like this histoire:en 1944, a German soldier who betrays his country to help in the fall of nazi regime, I did not see it in the cinema a lot! But especially, it is in this film that I discovered Oskar and as all the first times, they have a particular place in the heart... I have admired tellement his summer been actor, he was incredible! See you soon to speak about oskar!

Thank you Corinne for your answer. "Desicion Before Dawn" was really a good movie. I liked it too. :)

My favorite movie will always be "The Ship of fools" - maybe it's because Oscar Werner has never shown more of his own character in a part then here ...

;) Narrenschiff, I didn't expect anything else as your favourite movie. :D

Hello forum members, My favorite movie with OW was Jules and Jim. He played the part to perfection. He was so vulnerable, and sincere, and heartbreakingly sad. He could not pull himself away from Catherine's spell. Catherine was a liberated woman for her day, but so selfish and capricious; and also so very sad. Jean Moreau played a great part. I think it was one of Truffaut's best films.

Oh yes, "Jules et Jim", such a special movie, from the great Truffaut... I hate the fact that the German version was dubbed with another speakers voice... it's annyoing... I think that is one of the reasons why it isn't my favourite Oskar movie... silly what a voice can mean to one...

It is absolute not silly that a voice means so much. It is because of OW's voice I am a fan of him. "Jules et Jim" is so very french, that it feels natural for me to hear OW speaking french in that movie. Thanks God for subtitles!

My favorite movie is Decision Before Dawn, because it was the first movie I ever saw him in. I had never heard of him before, and I could not believe how wonderful he was. I will never forget that movie. :D

Well, you never forget your first movie with him. It's the same for me with "F 451".

That is right! The first time I saw him, I was like  I have many other actors I like, but none are like him. Does anyone know what his favorite movie was that he starred in?
Nici- 12-28-2007
Good question.... "Ship of Fools"?
Sarah- 12-29-2007
I just ordered Ship of Fools, because I have never seen it, and I really want to. My favorite scene in Decision Before Dawn was when he called the hospital that his dad worked at, and he could not speak to him, but he only wanted to hear his voice.
I cry every time i see that scene.
Nici- 12-29-2007
Oh, don't cry. ;)
In "F 451" I love the last scene, when they are all living books.. and recite their "content".

That is a marvelous scene. I will try not to cry next time I see Decision, but I probably will. When there is a scene like that, I always cry... I always want to jump into the screen and help the people.
