It is nicer and especially more clearly for me:I am French and my English is not very good (I am made to use sites of translation on Internet to read your messages and send mine and I do not speak a word of German; what irritates my brother because he is translator in German language!) .I thinks it more is interessant, especially pictures on Oskar which I had never seen! I have read that he was a very complicated person. But I think he was a wonderful man, strong, gentle, kind, brilliant, a family man. We know he was close to his children. But I don´t think it would be possible for me to describe his character in other ways, I didn´t know him personally. I just know what I have read and what I feel about him. Hello Corinne - you are asking about OW's character: Have you read the biography by Nici and Pamela her on this site? Maybe you can try to look at www.spirit-fanzine.de Marc Hairapetian has written several articles about OW, the la-*test*-('") in memoriam his 85 birthday last november. If you have the possibility to buy a book about him, I can suggest: Ein Nachklang - by Robert Dachs. There are many pictures in the book and the text is not too difficult. And you can see OW's handwritten letters, which is very charming. I think it is not easy to describe OW's character, he seemed to be quite complicated, highly intelligent with a drive to only to take roles he could identify with and he didn't want to compromise. The "Truth" was so important for him, to find the truth in the character. s he imbodied. I can assure you, it is really worthwhile to learn more about him!
