Maybe Nici still has the pictures? otherwise I will send them to her and hopefully she will upload them. Thallern is a small village in the geographic area of Wachau along the river Donau in Austria. OW had rentet a summerhouse there and spent regularly his time there, especially in his last years. It is a lovely area with wine fields on small hills. Last summer I visited the area and with friendly help from people there I found the house. The small street were the house is, is named after OW: Oskar Werner Weg. - Another possibility: you can send me a PM with your email address, I can send you an email with the pictures. I live in Denmark but I am a Viennese, therefor I come regularly to Austria. Greetings from Susanne

I think to go to Austria next year with my daughter. There is a long distance between Thallern and Triesen. Does anyone advise me an itinerary? I need to prepare the travell well in advance and that I may learn some words in German if I need it. Distance is important between Thallern and Triesen ... Friendly, Marie-Jeanne

You can try to find it on Google Earth. It is quite small, but on a good map it is shown. Good luck!

Hi my friends, :) My problem to go to Triesen or to Thallern or Vienna is to go alone by car beause it's very far and in a country witch I don't know language. And a woman alone today is not in security on the road. I thought to go with my daughter or my husband, and I can't now for that reason. Many money for travel and to sleep in Austria, to eat, go go acrross Austria. I need to feel that I'm in security with someone who speaks french like be to understand and understand the person who is with me. I think it's a travel of 2000 km France from Austria, in Austrian and return to France. I made many travels on 2000 km by car in the past but it was in France and always somebody with me. It was with my mother, or my husband or my daugther. I drove on many thousands km in France. Now, there is so long time that I made no travel so long. I want to go in England also, but I can't to travel alone because today is dangerous for a woman who is alone on the road by night or by day. Ideal would be to go together with somebody and make together money of travel and to be able to drive together the car, and to have compagny. For me is a problem because I have very bigs dogs which must stay in house to gard that house. And nobody can to come see my dogs because my dogs are not agree, even if it's to give them eat. That dogs don't want see nobody, only me and my husband. I have not find a solution today. I think to find how. And I had not found everybody very serious to go Austria with me. Money is not a major problem if you are in France if you would like come with me for the travel, Elizabeth. :) Enchantée de lire ces quelques mots en français... :) Bonjour... But you must be at least enough money to pay your room and your food. If you are in USA, the travel will cost many money to come to France. Here is the problem before to come in France. The most important thing is that my car is properly reviewed, and it is underway. And with my relationship in my business, if there is not too much work urgently to leave a few days. One could also go to several cars and several people. It would be nice organized a travel together. :) Friendly, Marie-Jeanne
