I had knwon Oskar gone to Trauman's Chinese Theather the 13 december 1951 where he lets hands & footprints in cement. The picture apparently dates post ?

Hi Sarah ! :)
It's too far for me. Maybe one day. If you go, bring us a picture! :D
I certainly will! :D I was supposed to go to Hollywood this summer with a friend, but it didn't work out, so maybe I will next year. If I do, OW's spot will be the first one I look for. 8)
It is sure that it will be the first ! I would do the same thing ! :)
Hi Nici, :)
On the first picture, he had this look he has during the mid-60. Like in "ship of fools".
What means Schani ?

Bonjour Nici, :)
Sur la première photo, il a ce look qu'il avait dans les années mi-60. Comme dans "La nef des fous".
Que veut dire Schani ?
Amicalement,
Marie-Jeanne
Hello Forum members, I am curious as to how this dog "Shani" saved OW's mother's life. How interesting. Best wishes, Tina
I love your look on his dog. In France we say "cracking". I do not know if the word in English gives the same meaning. All the love in his heart can be seen in his eyes !

J'adore son regard sur son chien. En France nous disons "craquant". Je ne sais pas si le mot veut dire quelque chose en anglais. Tout l'amour dans son coeur se voit dans ses yeux !

As far as Oskar's hand and foot prints in the famous sidewalk of Grauman's Chinese Theater are concerned. He did not go there and make them. They (the Hollywood people) wanted them added on that site after "Decision Before Dawn" I believe, (though it may have been at another time later) the problem was that he had left Hollywood by then. So he sent them tracings of his hands and feet. He went to see them and found they were quite a bit larger than his actual prints. Anyone who has worked with paper tracings knows that, by running a pen or pencil around an object is adding size to it right off. He thought that it was all quite amusing.
For him, going to California was a major expedition. He hated flying. So, even for his trip to work on "Ship of Fools" his journey consisted of traveling across the Atlantic by ship. There is a photo in Dach's "Ein Nacklang" of him on the front deck of the ship as it passed the Statue of Liberty in New York harbor. He and his wife, Anne then crossed the US by train. The idea exhausts me and I can't help but wonder if he steeled himself to flying later on. He was in the L.A. area frequently after Felix's birth in June of 1966 and had several different addresses there which were rental properties where he stayed during Felix's youngest years. He made the "Columbo" episode while there in the autumn of '74. After that Felix was old enough to come to Europe and stay with his father. Which he did many times for varying lengths of time. For the rest of Oskar's life.
Many thanks Pamela to talk us these details. :)
I didn't know it.
Affection,
Marie-Jeanne
