Can someone tell me who is in this with Oskar?
Here is the picture: I would like to know who it is with him. Does anyone know?

As far as I can see, this is a scene from Interlude: Stefan reads a good night story for his children, her his son Simon. I am not quite sure, but it seems to me, that the little boy's real name is Simon Davis.

Okay, that makes sense since I've never seen Interlude. Thanks Susanne!

Yep, Susanne is definiteve right. Also his shirt just shouts "Interlude". ;)

Just quick observation about the child in the photo. It is the little girl who plays Stefan's daughter. She's the one he reads to in the film and she is the one with straight hair. Little "Simon" has curly hair. So, this seems to me to be the little girl whose name escapes me at the moment. On a lighter note about that same scene (Nici and others know how often I have seen "Interlude".... I told Oskar when we were corresponding in the very early 80's, how once I got up at 4:30 AM to watch it - don't know if he thought I was out of my mind or not) in that scene where he is reading "Little Red Riding Hood" to the child he ends a sentence with a word ending in the letter 'p'. ",,,, eat Little Red Riding Hood up!" He stresses the 'p' to such an effect that it sounds as if he spit in the girl's face. Not that he would have, he did love children. But,, it does amuse me. Has anyone else noticed this? Just curious, wondering whether anyone else as familiar with the film got this impression! Until '86 the tv;s I had at my disposal were elderly black and white ones with very imperfect pictures. It made me pay more attention to the audio than I might have if I was seeing the pictures clearly and in color. One can create that sound with no "water works" involved, I tried it myself. But, it is a lighter moment, and an amusing one. Another note.... I have been given the book that was meant to become available when the movie came into the theaters. The only change Oskar had managed to make before he arrived for the actual filming was that his name is the male version of his mother's name. None of the music is the same. "Stefan" has black hair (he would not have cared about that). But, more interesting, is the fact that there is not a single animal mentioned, let alone present, in the story! Sally had no fish; the painting referred to as having been in her old flat was of daises and/ or sailboats, not horses or cows which "must have looked like horses." The only exception may be "Humphrey's" dog. Who is not, if I remember correctly, the Great Dane he is in the film. Of course, I imagine we all wish that the scene with the baby rabbit had not been edited out. But, there are a lot of changes that have "Oskar" 'written all over them. Not the least of which is the selection from Wagner's "Ring Cycle" operas. Oskar said he "hated Wagner like the plague." With good reason, of course. There would have been nothing of Wagner's in that film. And, all the music is different, perhaps Oskar's doing, perhaps the orchrestra's. We'll never probably know. But, I love the selections that are included.

Hello Pamela, you are quite right: it's the little girl who plays Stefan's daughter. Her name is Sarah Jane, in the movie and in reality.
